'The Lucky One': Zac Efron romance unlucky with most critics

The Times-Picayune The cynic might argue that the shifting of the setting for the Nicholas Sparks-penned romance "The Lucky One" from North Carolina to Louisiana was purely practical, a move by Warner Bros.

Good, original movies coming out, it's hard to work up much enthusiasm for "The Lucky One" (PG 13), a film that is so cliché.

"The Lucky One," starring Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling, is the latest in a line of film adaptations of Nicholas Sparks' weepy novels ("Dear John," "The Notebook").
