Unrelenting — more than 100 in 24 hours over a stretch of the Plains states. They tossed vehicles and ripped through homes. They drove families to their basements and whipped debris across small towns throughout the Midwest.

Severe Weather Awareness Week, a tornado drill will be held on Thursday (April 19). Schools and businesses are encouraged to practice emergency plans during the statewide tornado drill at 1:45 pm on Thursday.
