Beverly Hills, CA (PRWEB) August 2, 2010
Three years ago, online marketing training institution Search Engine College launched Search Engine Wiki, the worlds first vertical wiki dedicated to search engines and search engine marketing.
Search Engine Wiki is a collaborative online library of search engine marketing (SEM) resources. With the search communitys help, Search Engine Wiki has now grown to include thousands of SEM resources, freely available to the public.
Some of the most popular wiki resources include:
> Lists of regional search engines categorized by country, type and industry.
> A glossary of definitions for common terms used in Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Pay Per Click Advertising (PPC) and Search Engine Marketing.
> An extensive library of search engine marketing articles.
> Employment resources where you can find SEO, PPC and SEM jobs.
> A collection of popular search engine marketing blogs and newsfeeds.
> Frequently Asked Questions about search engines and SEM.
> A list of popular search engine marketing tools and time saving software.
> Links to upcoming search industry conferences and events.
> A list of social media sites and related tools.
Search Engine Wiki is the brainchild of Kalena Jordan, co-founder of Search Engine College, and is the result of over 10 years worth of industry research and practice.
“Search Engine Wiki actually began life as a massive collection of bookmarks, tools and site links that my staff and I had gathered over the past 10 years as search engine optimization consultants”, says Kalena.
“As I was constantly referencing these within the SEO courses that I teach and in my Search Engine Advice Column, I realized that the collection would make fantastic starter content for a community-driven wiki. Three years ago, we discovered that the perfect domain (SearchEngineWiki.com) was available and it seemed like serendipity. Weve been growing the Wiki ever since.”
Just like Wikipedia and most other wikis, Search Engine Wiki is designed to be collaborative. Wiki users can suggest resources and definitions to be added or register to become editors and add resources directly. Search Engine College students are also encouraged to collaborate and contribute to the Wiki during their training and beyond.
To celebrate Search Engine Wikis third birthday, every day in August staff at Search Engine College are giving away one of their geeky T-shirts to the first person to successfully find a picture of their resident librarian, Ms Parker, somewhere on the Search Engine Wiki web site. She’s always on the move so can be very hard to find. If you spot her, be sure to tweet the phrase “I found Ms Parker!” and a link to the page that you found her on to the Twitter account: @sewiki.
Search Engine Wiki is now out of BETA release and welcoming contributions from the public.
